Lavender essential oil, vanilla flavor, and sweet orange essential oil partner to give this soap a floral, herbaceous, warm, sweet scent with a hint of citrus. This is a flavor we have been making since our early soap days. Truly a crowd pleaser, it is always in high demand.

Typically, I like to give our lavender soaps a nice lavender color, but any time you have a significant amount of vanilla flavor in a recipe, the soap will turn out some shade of brown. It’s a small price to pay for that scrumptious addition of vanilla.

This soap was designed by one of our Step In Time dancers for the Mary Poppins segment in On Broadway.  The flavor is strongly minty with a sweet, fruity finish.  The bars are marbled green and red with a highly textured top swirl that looks like frosting on a cake.

When I grab one of these bars and take a big inhale, my eyes open wide, and I just can’t help but smile.  This one is a favorite of kids and adults alike.

Our new Tobacco Vanilla Soap, dubbed An American in Paris, is another On Broadway inspiration.  The flavor features the rich, earthy scent of dried tobacco perfectly blended with the sweet, warm scent of vanilla.  We topped off the brown and tan swirl with a drizzle, which looks amazingly like chocolate and caramel.  Yum!

I have always loved the smell of dried tobacco.  I remember stepping into an old tobacco barn on a third grade field trip and being shocked at the smooth, pleasant aroma.  This combination works great for both men and women.

Here is another soap inspired by On Broadway.  When I first had the idea for the Hot Honey Rag soap, I thought it would be great to create a soap that not only smells like honey but also looks like honeycomb, but how?  I wondered if bubblewrap could possibly do the trick and not end up completely embedded in the soap.  I am happy to report that it was a great success.  Hot Honey Rag has a pleasantly warm honey aroma and even looks like honeycomb!

Today’s assignment was to photograph the soap.  Normally, I can set up the photo, take a few shots, change everything around, take a few more shots, and really play around until I end up with something I like.  Of course, once you start drizzling honey on things, there’s only so much rearranging that can take place before it looks like your 2-year-old has been “cooking” again.  I found an arrangement of the bars that I liked and called out with confidence, “Queue the drizzle!”
